Senior Box Leagues Extended until Sunday 7th February 2010.

The Tennis Committe met last night being Monday 18th January 2010 for its regular six weekly meetings.

One of the Agenda Items was the impact of the recent bad weather on player’s ability to play their current Divisions.

Whilst the Tennis Committe noted that players had lost slightly in excess of two weeks play, it was felt that to extend the current Box leagues beyond a week would have potential knock on effects for the year end Box Leagues. 

Traditionally the period Feb - March sees the year end Men and Women’s Box League Champion crowned and to have in effect a maximum of Six weeks to play (should current leagues be extended by even two weeks) would devalue the achievement. This period can not be extended as the Clubs Membership year expires on the 31st March.

We hope that players understand our thinking process and hope that players will play as many of their current league matches within the new time period as possible.
