Ladies 2nd's Draw, whilst Ladies3rd's Win again !
The Ladies 2nd team hosted Crowborough 1st team on Sunday 17th in brilliant sunshine, to contrast the lovely rain that cleared the courts of snow on Saturday. The young team showed their inexperience as they battled to a 2-2 draw with the weaker shots but greater guile of the Crowborough ladies. Izzy Holland & Freya Loughton won their opener against the 2nd pair 6-3 7-6 but played patchily, understanable after the long lay off. Meanwhile, Maddy Hyman and Rose Naested battled back from a set down and 3-0 down to take the 2nd set 6-3 against the 1st pair only to collapse to a 6-0 loss in the 3rd set. Izzy and Freya then lost to the same pair 6-7 2-6 but Rose and Maddy fought all the way to win against the 2nd pair, 6-3 3-6 7-5, to secure the draw.
The Ladies 3rd team traveled to Steyning and played with snow patches still on the edge of the courts. First pair Winnie Fox & Kristina Banham won both rubbers in convincing fashion and Gill Andersson & Rachel Deveraux found the going a bit tougher but came up with 2 wins to secure the 4-0 win
